My Hero Academia chapter 407 was one of the most horrifyingly beautiful chapters written by Horikoshi in the entire series. Fans absolutely loved this week’s chapter and it was clear to see for all that Horikoshi possesses quite a penchant for writing horror.
Fans already know that the author has previously made known his wishes about writing horror stories and this week’s chapter once again went on to show that he certainly is talented at it. Much to the surprise of the fans,My Hero Academiachapter 407focused on All For One and his life, including his birth and how he rose into power, at least in the first few stages of his life. The entire chapter was a flashback that fans certainly loved and hope to see more of in the upcoming chapters as well.
The Birth Of All For One
Before the age of Quirks, fans got to see All For One’s mother, who is believed to have been a sex worker. The chapter made it clear that his mother was homeless and, eventually, ended up giving birth under a bridge. As fans know, she ended up giving birth to two kids, one of which was All For One and, the other was Yoichi, his younger brother. It is known that All For One’s mother had warts over her body before she ended up dying. However, as soon as she gave birth, these warts disappeared. Later down the line, it was revealed thatAll For One stole her Quirkand around this time, Quirks started manifesting for the very first time.
Staying under the bridge would have been dangerous for these kids as they would become rat food, however, waves wash them away at the very perfect opportunity as if in a twist of fate. Eventually, these two kids ended up growing, however, it was made clear that All For One was the bigger child as he consumed everything while Yoichi was the smaller one. This was something that happened right from birth or, in many instances, even before birth when they were inside their mother’s womb. All For One ended up consuming everything, which is why Yoichi was small and feeble.
Even after they were born, All For One continued to consume everything. In fact, he was born without a shred of humanity from the very beginning. He ended up stealing the Quirk of his mother as soon as he was born and that just goes to show his depravity. It is refreshing to see an author draw a villain evil through and through. In the up-and-coming series, villains often have sad stories attached to them and while that is certainly not wrong in any aspect, true villains are somewhat of a lost art and modern media and, the fact that Horikoshi decided to make All For One so evil right from the get-go is certainly incredibly refreshing for the fans to see.
The Rise Of All For One
My Hero Academiachapter 407 continued to focuson the life of All For One.As he grew older, he continued to steal more powers. In fact, with time, Quirks started manifesting among people both pubescent and prepubescent. As that happened, All For One continued to steal and take from people because that was what he knew best. This was being done by him while being merely a child and that just goes to show the level that he was at right from birth. His mentality had already been set. Everything that he saw was useful to him was his and everything else was discarded by him as worthless. Even his younger brother, Yoichi, was deemed as his possession by him. He wanted to make a world where everything existed just for his sake and this became the mentality of the Demon Lord later down the line.
Fans got to see his powers even as a kid when he brutally massacred the group trying to stop the Meta ability users by skewering them with the Quirk that he stole from his mother. In the coming years, he continued to grow stronger and stole more Quirks with time.
Yoichi And His Obsession With Heroes
My Hero Academiachapter 407 also focused quite a bit on Yoichi. WhereasAll For One was pure evilthrough and through, Yoichi certainly had decency and humanity within him. Fans got to see quite a lot of Yoichi as he immersed himself in comics. At first, All For One couldn’t quite grasp why he was doing so, however, Yoichi was obsessed with heroes from the beginning. He loved witnessing heroic acts and heroes saving people with a smile on their faces.
Both the brothers started reading the comics and while Yoichi was obsessed with heroes, All For One started obsessing over villains. In fact, fans of All For One found out that he stole the Quirk of the glowing baby as well, which was one of the first recorded cases of Quirks in humanity.
As he grew older, All For One and his evil grew as well. He had already decided by this point that he wanted to enslave the entire world and make it respond to every wish and whim of his. All For One certainly had the power to make this possible, given that he could steal everything and anything from people. He could discard those who were useless to him and he could give more power to those who he believed to be useful. That is why he kept Yoichi around and eventually gave him a Quirk as well, since he did feel pity for his brother at one point.
Kudo Steps In
Towards the end ofMy Hero Academiachapter 407, fans saw Yoichi being taken away from All For One. Even though he believed that Yoichi lived for his sake, he was surprised when Kudo stepped in and stole his brother away from him. He took Yoichi by the hand and ran away with him. Fans also know that Kudo was in a resistance group that foughtagainst All For Oneand his oppression. At some point, Kudo and Yoichi made acquaintances and the latter ended up taking Yoichi with him, later on becoming the second user of One For All as well. Kudo himself had the power of Gearshift and fans already know this.
The upcoming chapters of My Hero Academia will most likely focus on this aspect of the story more and elaborate upon the relationship between Kudo and Yoichi. Fans will also likely get to see the death of Yoichi as well as that of Kudo at the hand of All For One, which would likely then tie into the current fight between Bakugo and the Demon Lord. The flashback has been absolutely amazing over the past chapter and fans can only hope that it continues and they get a proper look at the life that All For One led up until this point.
