FollowingDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’exciting release in early May, the focus has shifted to Taika Waititi’s highly anticipatedThor: Love and Thunder. Roughly a month and a half away from its release, the Marvel film is now expected to release its second trailer tonight during the NBA’s Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Following the events of 2019’s climacticAvengers: Endgame,Thor: Love and Thundersees the return of Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, as he is in search of inner peace this time around. But when a new enemy emerges by the name ofGorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), Thor is forced to recruit new allies in order to defeat the Galactic threat from eliminating all gods. Christian Bale is the lone pinnacle of what comes next.

The first teaser was released back in April, one that gave fans a brief look at some of thereturning characters while also hinting at some of the exciting stories to explore. Now, Marvel Studios and Hemsworth have taken to social media to confirm that the second trailer will indeed drop on ABC tonight during the Game 4 matchup between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.

While there’s no telling what will be revealed, fans can expect at least a minute more of footage filled with more exciting action shots, plot details, and perhaps a first look at Bale as Gorr. A big concern when it comes to Marvel Studios is that for almost all of their projects, they tend to reveal too much in the trailers or tv spots before the project’s actual release. But if theSpider-Man: No Way Hometrailer is any indication (one where they edited out plenty of big reveals), fans should be relieved to know that many times what they see in a trailer isn’t always the case of what will be presented in the final cut.

Either way, it looks like the film is shaping up to be another big hit, as Waititi expressed his excitement for the upcoming film, sharing that he is really proud of what he and the whole production team cooked up. “It’s a fantastic film… I don’t attempt to control my films, or how they turn out… I sort of let them appear to me," Waititi told Empire in a recent interview. “And with this film, I’m like, ‘Hey, you’re kind of cooler than the thing I was originally hoping to make.’ Tonally it’s where I’ve always wanted it.”

Other than focusing on Hemsworth’s titular hero and what will likely be a worthy addition to the MCU with Bale’s villain,Thor: Love and Thunderwill also exploreValkyrie’s (Tessa Thompson) rule as the new king and showcase Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster(the astrophysicist and ex-lover of Thor who is making her first return sinceThor: The Dark World) taking up the mantle of the God of Thunder. Waititi also hopes to delve deeper into Korg’s (a character the director plays himself through motion capture) culture and introduce the Space Sharks alien race.

Thor: Love and Thunderwill arrive in theatres on July 05, 2025.
