Uncharted 4: A Thief’s Endlaunched five years ago at this point, but fans are still making new discoveries in the game. One of the most recent Easter egg discoveries inUncharted 4is particularly interesting, as it further links theUnchartedfranchise to Naughty Dog’s critically-acclaimed 2020 survival-horror hitThe Last of Us 2.
Reddit user kheinrichs547, as spotted by GamesRadar, has shared a fresh discovery inUncharted 4. In the game, players can examine pill bottles that, and it turns out that the bottles are from Weston’s Pharmacy. Fans ofThe Last of Us 2may recall that Weston’s Pharmacy can be found in that game. However, diehardLast of Usfans will know that Weston’s Pharmacy appears elsewhere in the series as well. Commenters on the Reddit thread pointed out that there is actually a Weston’s Pharmacy featured in theLeft BehindDLC for the originalLast of Usgame.

This is far from the first Easter egg that has seemingly connected theUnchartedandLast of Usuniverses. InUncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, players can find a newspaper that hints at the cordyceps outbreak. And inThe Last of Us 2, players can find anold PS3 with a stack ofUnchartedgames sitting next to it. There are other references between theUnchartedgames andThe Last of Usgames, but it’s worth pointing out that older Naughty Dog titles get some nods as well.
One of the most famous examples of this is an early moment inUncharted 4: A Thief’s End. As fans may recall, there is a moment in that game whereNathan Drake and Elena Fisherare hanging out on the couch playing video games. And the video game they choose to play is none other than the original PS1 version ofCrash Bandicoot, the game that really put Naughty Dog on the map as a major development studio for the PlayStation brand.
There are some references to theJak and Daxterfranchise in Naughty Dog’s newer games as well. In fact, players can findPrecursor Orbs hidden inThe Last of Us 2as well as theUnchartedgames. These orbs are a collectible in theJak and Daxtergames and hugely important to their plotline, so it’s always neat whenever players stumble on them in games likeUnchartedorThe Last of Us.
While these are fun Easter eggs for diehard Naughty Dog fans, they shouldn’t be taken as evidence that the universes are connected in any meaningful capacity. The timelines for theLast of UsandUnchartedgames simply don’t match up. Still, it can be fun for the community to find these kinds of things.
