No More Heroes 3is here. Ten years after the launch ofNo More Heroes 2on the Wii,No More Heroes 3arrives asone of the biggest released games of August, and a massive title for the Nintendo Switch. It has been a long time coming for fans of the series, but according to the creator ofNo More Heroes, Suda51, it looks like this will be the last title for Travis Touchdown.
The firstNo More Heroeswas released back in 2007 on the Nintendo Wii using the unique motion controls on the Wii remote. While there was a large gap between the 2011 sequel andNo More Heroes 3, Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroeslaunched in 2019 for the Switch as a spinoff of sorts.PlayingTravis Strikes Againas a part of theNo More Heroesexperienceis something that is recommended. But now with all of those games together, Suda51 is claiming that this Travis Touchdown chapter is coming to a close.

According to a special message from Suda51 upon the release ofNo More Heroes 3, it is time to say goodbye to Travis and goodbye toNo More Heroes. The director of the game claims that the final chapter was going to have a different name, specificallyNo More Heroes 3: FINAL BOUT - All-Out Galactic War. However, apparently, the subtitle was too long. Suda51 says that the team was inspired by the Rocky series and went with the more simplistic numbered format.
Interestingly, the second game in the series does have a subtitle,No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle. It could also have worked forNo More Heroes 3to simply have a shorter subtitle, with FINAL BOUT working for example. However, the team stuck with not having a subtitle, but Suda51 did emphasize thatTravis Touchdown’s adventures are coming to an end withNo More Heroes 3.
Thus far, Travis' newest game is receiving solid reviews from most outlets, andGame Rant specifically believes that the series is better than it has ever been withNo More Heroes 3. The game is wacky, colorful, over-the-top, and quite unlike most experiences available in the gaming world. If this is indeed the final bout for Mr. Touchdown, it appears he went out with a bang. And knowing the personality of the beam katana-wielding protagonist, he likely would not have it any other way.
