TheOne Piecemanga made its much-awaited return with an outstanding chapter. Given the run that Oda has been on, it seems almost impossible to top the previous chapter, but somehow he still manages to do it. The latestOne Piecechapter had many interesting developments. It started with Bonney and Vegapunk’s interaction, and then it slowly headed toward the fight between CP0 and the Straw Hats.
In Chapter 1071, fans saw Zoro and Kaku facing off against each other. This was the first time that the pair had seen each other since the Enies Lobby arc. As expected, the tension between the two escalated, and it turned into a full-out brawl. It seemed that Zoro would emerge victorious, but Kaku had an ace up his sleeve.

Kaku’s Devil Fruit
Kaku possesses the Ushi Ushi no Mi, Model: Giraffe,which is a Zoan-type devil fruit. He received the devil fruit from Spandam during the Enies Lobby arc. The devil fruit allows Kaku to transform into a giraffe at will. When Kaku initially consumed the devil fruit, he didn’t have good control over it; in fact, it made things more complicated for him. He was used to moving quickly and catching his opponents off guard, but with his massive giraffe body, Kaku found it difficult to move as quickly.
However, Kaku’s ingenuity helped him control the power of the devil fruit. He was able to successfully incorporate it into his fighting style. The power that he gained from the devil fruit allowed Kaku to launch Rankyaku attacks that were strong enough to slice through buildings. Kaku gave Zoro a torrid time in their fight, but the Straw Hat triumphed with the help of his Ashura Ichibugin.
Devil Fruit Awakening
After their defeat at Enies Lobby, all the members of CP9 were dismissed by Spandam. Luckily, it didn’t take long for them to get back on their feet. Some of them were inducted into CP0, and Kaku was one of the few members who managed to get promoted. Needless to say, Kaku continued to train even after becoming a member of CP0, which explains how he managed to awaken his devil fruit.
Kaku’s awakened form consists of the same black floating cloud that was visible during Lucci’s transformation. The chapter didn’t display Kaku’s entire body, but judging from Zoro’s reaction, it seemsKaku’s awakened form is differentfrom anything that the latter showed at Enies Lobby. While using his devil fruit awakening, Kaku’s neck looked bulkier, but his arms looked a bit leaner than his previous forms. The devil fruit awakening also increases his physical attributes, which include strength, endurance, and stamina. Due to his devil fruit being a herbivorous Zoan, Kaku’s attacking power isn’t as strong as Rob Lucci’s, who possesses a carnivorous Zoan.
How Strong Is Kaku?
Currently, Kaku works as a masked assassin forCP0, the strongest Cipher Polthat is under the direct command of the World Government. According to Robin, the masked assassins are much stronger than the ones without them. So, it is safe to assume that Kaku belongs to an elite class of fighters. Kaku’s talent was visible during his very first fight against Roronoa Zoro. The assassin was able to push the Straw Hat pirate to the extreme, forcing him to use the Ashura Ichibugin.

Like his partner, Lucci, Kaku also trained a lot during the time skip, which not only helped him unlock his devil fruit awakening but also increased his control over Rokushiki and Haki. In chapter 1072, Kaku was seen going toe-to-toe with Zoro, which surprised a lot of fans as they were expecting the Straw Hat pirate to win easily. However, Kaku demonstrated how much he had improved. After Zoro sent him crashing, Kaku got up totally unfazed. It seemed that Zoro would be forced to use his stronger techniques to take down the assassin from CP0. Unfortunately, the fight was interrupted by Stussy, who did something very unexpected.
What Will Happen To CP0?
Kaku was knocked out cold by Stussy after she bit his neck. It is unclear what Stussy exactly did to Kaku that made him lose consciousness, but it seems related to her devil fruit ability. Rob Lucci was shocked by her actions, so he tried asking her, but Stussy did not disclose the reason behind her betrayal. Knowing Lucci, it seems very likely that he is going to attack Stussy in the next chapter. The outcome of their battle will be extremely important, as it will letthe winner control the Seraphim. Lucci suffered multiple injuries during his fight with Luffy, so he is not at 100%. This gives Stussy an advantage, and it might be enough for her to secure a victory.
Given his predicament, it will be interesting to see how Lucci handles the situation. One thing is for certain: he needs to react quickly because Sanji is on his way to join Zoro and Brook. To make matters worse, Lilith and Edison are also heading to their location, and as they have the higherranking in the Pacifista Command Hierarchy, the Seraphim will no longer be taking orders from Rob Lucci.
