AnOverwatch 2player has shared fan art crossing over Sombra with Wednesday Addams in celebration of the new Netflix show’s success. Fan art crossing over one popular franchise with another isn’t uncommon, but thisWednesdaypiece also raises the question of whether Blizzard is considering doing collaborations forOverwatch 2in the future. Wednesday Addams and the rest of the Addams family wouldn’t be a bad place to start.

Wednesdayofficially debuted on Netflix on November 23, with the comedy horror show becoming one of the platform’s most popular original shows yet. Its success is unexpected and unprecedented. Jenny Ortega’s performance as the macabreWednesday Addamscertainly helped, as did the long history ofAddams Familyfilms and TV shows from the past 60 years. Season 2 is reportedly already being worked on. Wednesday is easily one of 2022’s biggest characters.

A post on Reddit shared by EulerId, though the original artist is unknown, depictsSombraas Wednesday Addams in pigtails and wearing her iconic dress with a white collar. The art is framed as a purchasable skin forOverwatch 2. The original art is priced at a weighty 9,999 Overwatch Coins, though EulerId has edited it to be 999. Perhaps they wanted it to be realistically priced, as Redditors would likely have latched onto the cost of 9,999 coins otherwise.

While the art itself is very well-made, the pitch of the Reddit story is for Blizzard to begin doing collaborations inOverwatch 2like Epic Games does withFortnite. TheOverwatch 2community is surprisingly divided on the subject, however. Many users say that Blizzard should focus on its own properties likeWorld of Warcraft,Starcraft, andDiablo. Others yet say they preferOverwatch 2not have any collaborations, and to continue focusing on original content instead.

It’s not impossible to imagine Blizzard opening upOverwatch 2to collaborations in the future, though. IfWednesdaycontinues to be successful, crossover opportunities seem all but certain.Fortnitehas previously partnered with Netflix forStranger ThingsandCobra Kaiskins.Wednesdayseems like a perfect choice for another partnership. Blizzard would be remiss to not reach out, as well.

Blizzard could very well be averse to the idea of offeringcollaborative skins forOverwatch 2, too. While the popularity of theOverwatchseries has had its ups and downs, it’s still a massively popular and successful series. It could land some big collaborations if it wanted to. But that may not be the direction Activision Blizzard wants to take the game. Fans will just have to fill the gap on their own.

Overwatch 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
