As a team-based 6v6 shooter, teamwork can often mean the difference between winning and losing a fight inOverwatch. Over the last 5 years,Overwatchplayers have captured many in-game highlightsexemplifying the importance of working together to be successful. Recently, this type of cooperation was displayed, albeit unintentionally, between a D.Va player and an allied Sigma.
In a post on Reddit, a user known as Mountain-Manager-714 shared a video from a recent game ofOverwatch. Taking place on the Control Center section ofthe Lijiang Tower map, the highlight began with the Reddit user rushing back to contest the point as D.Va. Sitting at 99%, they only needed to take control of the objective for another second to send the game to a final round. However, the enemy team looked to prevent that from happening, as they had set up a formidable defense on the point. While it was going to take an impressive strategy to dislodge the opposition, Mountain-Manager-714 and an allied Sigma had just the play for the situation.

After taking several shots from the main choke point, Mountain-Manager-714 decided to reposition to another angle and try a different strategy. With time and options running out, they decided to use their ultimate. With no time to lose, they ejected from their mech and sent it flying towards the enemy team. While an enemy Orisa shield threatened to nullify theeffects of the D.Va bomb, the Sigma player on Mountain-Manager-714’s team had other ideas. Using their ultimate as well, the allied Sigma lifted the enemy players from behind the protection of their shield. The ensuing explosion from the D.Va ultimate eliminated the opposition on point, allowing the attacking team to take the round in a spectacular fashion.
This clip of the D.Va and Sigma ultimate combo caught the attention of many members of theOverwatchcommunity on Reddit. With over 4,100 upvotes in less than a day, many were amazed by the timing on display between the players. Remarkably, Mountain-Manager-714 revealed that the amazing play was made rather spontaneously with no previous planning. Nevertheless, the success of this play showed that both players had the presence of mind to play off each other in the middle of the action. In addition to commenting on the impressive play, a number of fans noted that the Sigma and D.Va ultimate combo was underrated and should be used more.
It’s often fun seeing these types of amazing plays pulled off by members of theOverwatchcommunity. Besides this impressive play captured by Mountain-Manager-714, aTorbjorn player recently eliminated 6 enemieseven after dying on the objective. As players continue to wait forOverwatch 2to release sometime in the indefinite future, it’s likely that even more highlight-worthy plays will be captured by players in the originalOverwatch.
