This year, PlayVS will be holding its first annual July Jam, a free-to-play summer competition event that is open to any high school or college student in the United States and Canada. Players will compete inRocket League, League of Legends,andFortniteSolos matches, with a chance to take home a chunk of a $40,000 prize pool.

July Jam will be divided into two three-dayesportsevents. Event 1, which runs from July 13-15, will be open to both high school and college students, although college students can only participate in theFortnitecompetitions. Event 2 takes place from July 27-29 and will be limited to high schoolers only. For those interested, PlayVS has a Discord channel to help potential participants keep track of when and how to enroll for the events.

ForRocket LeagueandLeague of Legends,players will only be eligible to win if they participate in all three days of a July Jam event or win all three of their matches.Rocket Leagueplayers will compete in teams of three in a “best of five” battle, andLeague of Legendscompetitorswill play on teams of five in a “best of three” format. During both events, teams that play on all three match days can win $500, and teams that win all three of their matches can take home $1,000. A total of 54 teams will be chosen as winners across both events and games.

Fortniteplayerswill compete in Solos, with one match consisting of six games. Participants have to play at least one day during the event to be eligible to win, and there will be 64 teams selected for a cash prize. Players can win $100 for each day they play during both events, and those who participate in all three days of an event can take home $250.
