A new 7-Star Tera Raid Battle has been announced forPokemon Scarlet and Violetfeaturing Pikachu. Players will get the chance to battle the iconic Pokemon and capture it.Tera Raid events are a new game-changing feature added to the franchise inPokemon Scarlet and Violet. In them, players can gather with up to three friends to participate in raids and get the chance to capture unique Pokemon with special Tera types. It’s essentially an evolution fromPokemon Sword and Shield’s Max Raid battles, which offered a similar experience. However, they focus on a Terastallized Pokemon, which often comes in an unusual type and can be captured. The Tera Raid events can be accessed via glittering crystals found in the world, and are only available for a specific time.RELATED:Pokemon Teases Massive Wailord PlushIn the upcoming 7-Star raid, which is set to happen from February 24 through 27,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers will get a unique chance to fight a Water Tera Type Pikachu. It’s the first time that the most famous Pokemon of all time is the star of a raid. Curiously, the event is set to end at 15:00 UTC, as pointed out by user JoeMerrick on Twitter. Most raids tend to end at midnight, so this could mean that there issomething special planned for Pokemon Day. However, there is still no official announcement about what could it be and whether it’s related to yet another Tera Raid.
These raids are a fairly common occurrence in the newPokemongames. Recently, players had thechance to capture Garchomp and Sylveon in an event. These raids occur every other week since the Eevee raid, which happened on November 22, during the game’s launch, and normally only last a few days. Other Pokemon that have appeared as the target of these events recently include Tandemaus, Ceruledge, Armarouge, Greninja, and Mismagius, among others. Such iconic Pokemon such as Pikachu, however, are not so common, which makes this week’s raid more special than usual.
So far, Nintendo and Game Freak have had no problems making Pokemon Scarlet and Violethuge hits, and live content such as raids is a part of that success. In only eight weeks, these gamessold more thanSword and Shieldin three years. Now,Pokemongamers can attempt to snatch their own special Pikachu and wait to see what will be announced during Pokemon Day.
