Gaming hardware company Razer reveals its new Razer Huntsman Mini keyboard. The brand has been very busy these last few months, as it has been launching new products andmanufacturing single-use surgical masks for hospitalsfighting against COVID-19.
Today,Razerlaunched the Razer Huntsman Mini, a 60% keyboard which is compact but will offer high performance. Unlike other gaming keyboards which have mechanical switches (preferred for their tactile feel and the beautiful, clicky sound that they can make), the Razer Huntsman Mini uses the company’s own optical switches. These switches “outperform traditional mechanical switches in both speed and response times,” says Razer, making the Huntsman keyboards a top choice for high-level gamers.

Razer is really trying to tout the Razer Huntsman Mini is a must-have peripheral for anyone who takes their gaming seriously, saying thatFortnitepro and former FaZe clan member Cloakzyis one such gamer who “demands” a keyboard with a smaller footprint. The smaller keyboard can fit into tournament desk space, explains the company.
Those who buy the Razer Huntsman Mini aren’t expected to becomerecord-breakingFortniteplayersovernight. However, features like functions and macros that can be mapped to any key using Razer Hypershift could potentially give some higher level players the edge. The new keyboard was also developed with feedback from gamers and tech enthusiasts, says Razer, confirming that the Razer Huntsman Mini does have things that the wider community really wants.
While performance is incredibly important, the compactness of the Razer Huntsman Mini should be a big help for anyone working with limited space. Razer notes that this is good for those who play games with a “furry friend” laying on their desk. Clips such as the video of aTwitch streamer’s cat throwing up into their PCsuggest that having a pet on the desk isn’t always a good idea, but the new Razer keyboard does provide that option.
The downside to the Razer Huntsman Mini is that at $119.99 for the clicky variation of the keyboard, it’s not much cheaper than the regular-sized version of the Razer Huntsman which is available for $149.99. While the Razer Huntsman Mini is far from being one of the moreexpensive gaming accessoriesthat have gone on sale, some may have expected such a smaller device having a much smaller price.
