In theSeparate WaysDLC, the Bear Hat is a unique apparel that boosts knife damage. When equipped, Ada can defeat enemies with fewer knife stabs, reducing the need for ammunition. However, this enhancement does not affect the blade’s durability, so players will still need to repair their knivesunless they have an infinite one.

Obtaining the Bear Hat involves completingRE4: Separate Waysunder specific conditions. This guide will provide a quick and efficient walkthrough on how to unlock it.

In the remake ofResident Evil 4, Leon could gain the same buff bywearing the Deer Antlers. The only thing that changes about this buff in the DLC is its appearance; instead of a set of antlers, Ada equips an innocuous-looking hat.

Although players can combine the Bear Hat with the Cute Bear Earing, the pair won’t grant any additional effect. The earring set is merelya cosmetic item with no special powers.

How to Equip the Bear Hat

Once acquired, the Bear Hat becomes available via the Extras menu. To equip it, players must go to the“Ada’s Accessories”section and toggle the hat on. Players should note that they can only wear one hat at a time, so they cannot stack the effects of the Bear Hat with those ofthe Chicken Hator the Cat Set.

How the Bear Hat Affects Achievements

Wearing booster apparel in theSeparate WaysDLC does not directly impact achievements. Players can still achieve an S+ rank using the extra buff if they start a new game (instead of NG+).

Tips for Getting the Bear Hat Faster

The ideal way to get an S+ rank on Standard Mode is toskip unnecessary sections. Ada can run past most enemies, especially the ones in the Village Square, and save time by avoiding fights. It’s also good to capitalize onFlash Grenades or explosivesto stun bigger enemies and flee from them.
