Red Dead Redemption 2is available now on PC and, as expected, the modding community surrounding Rockstar’s games is already hard at work. Hours before the open-world western game was released, modders had already published skins for protagonist Arthur Morgan, including aJoker skin inspired by the new movie. Now several days pastRed Dead Redemption 2’s launch on PC, modders have already stepped up their game.
The latest mod is actually a basic trainer. Trainers are mods or programs that allow players to modify the game, often on the fly, by altering memory values being stored by the game in a computer’s memory. This newRed Dead Redemption 2trainer, dubbed Lenny’s Simple Trainer, allows the player to do some surprisingly cool things. For example, the player can change their in-game model into any of the game’s NPCs and animals, replete with their standard animations and abilities – like being able to fly as an eagle.

Players simply need to download the trainer, named Lenny’s Simple Trainer, and then transfer the files included in it over to theirRed Dead Redemption 2installationfolder. Then there’s a .ini file in the folder that can be edited with a text editor. Players will need to find a list of model IDs, which can be found by searching for “Red Dead Redemption 2 PED models list” in Google. Then, just copy the model ID for the character you want to play as into the .ini file into either the “Model1=” or “Model2=” part of the file. Go in-game and pressing F7 or F8 will turn your character into the model of choice.
Lenny’s Simple Trainer does several other things, too, in case transforming into an animal or anotherRed Dead Redemption 2NPC isn’t particularly exciting. Pressing F5 teleports the player 3 meters forward and can be held down to travel very vast. And F9-F11 can be used to transport to specific locations like thetown of Valentine. These locations can, of course, be edited in the same .ini file where the models were found. These are just a few useful tricks players can use inRed Dead Redemption 2single player.
It should go without saying, butRed Dead Redemption 2players won’t want to use this mod or others when playingRed Dead Online. It’s unlikely that the trainer will work withRed Dead Online, but having these files in the wrong folder could be flagged by Rockstar and could get your account banned. The game hasn’t been out for even a week, so no one should be getting theirRed Dead Onlineaccount banned already.
Red Dead Redemption 2is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
