Boyd said she did not anticipate that her own colleagues would openly mock and be happy about the rough release. The developer also said she feels sad, confused, and disappointed, and called people who take pleasure in the failure of others “mean-spirited.” Although she tries to stay positive, Boyd revealed that it has been difficult because of negative comments like “they deserved it.”

Marked by lackluster reviews,Redfallwas labeled an unfinished and unsatisfying game. Players were also very frustrated with the experience, hampered by performance issues. There was no shortage of complaints about various aspects of the game, including the graphics quality, the empty world, and the lack of matchmaking for co-op. EvenRedfall’s price was subject to criticism, with players considering the price not worthy of the title’s current status. It remains to be seen what the next few months have in store forRedfall, as all the pressure after the troubled launch now falls on the shoulders ofStarfield.
