Rocket Arenais a unique 3D sort ofSmash Bros.with shooting. Players battle in arenas using their weapons and abilities to knock opponents out of the arena’s range. It’s a unique idea and it’s launching very soon on July 14. But much remains to be said aboutRocket Arena, which publisher Electronic Arts only recently started promoting. Making up for lost time, Electronic Arts recently put out a new trailer forRocket Arenaintroducing the game’s setting and launch maps.
The arenas ofRocket Arenaare all set in important locations across the world of Crater. The premise ofRocket Arenabeing the incredibly popular Rocket Championship Tour, which likely gets regions or countries to open up these great locations fortournament events. Locales include a futuristic cityscape, a winter-themed fantasy castle, an underwater sanctuary, and even an ancient crumbling temple.

In all, there are 10 differentRocket Arenamap locationsrevealed in the World of Crater trailer. Apogee Acres, Frostwind Grove, The Golden Zephyr, Hypersonic Heights, Icefall Keep, Megadon Junction, Shimmering Depths, Star of Crater, Stompy’s Refuge, and the Temples of Jaaqua are all locales where players will battle for rocket supremacy. Several of the locations, for example Apogee Acres and Hypersonic Heights, take place in thematically similar locales.
These will, assumedly, be all of the maps availablewhenRocket Arenalauncheson July 14. Developer Final Strike Games makes clear that this is just the start of the exploration of Crater, however. The Rocket Championship Tour will continue to travel around the world to new and exciting locales.
Final Strike Games also makes clear that any future map releases forRocket Arenawill be made available entirely for free.Rocket Arenawill feature a seasonal structure of content updates, with a Blast Passbattle passfor extra cosmetic content. So expect new free gameplay-based content on the regular.
Expect more information aboutRocket Arenain the days to come as Electronic Arts and Final Strike Games prepare forRocket Arena’s launch. It has all the opportunity to be a sleeper summer hit, but only ifElectronic Artsis really able to capitalize on these final days and the time immediately after.
