However, despite not launching December 10 as intended, the franchise is planning to release aSeason 1 trailer at The Game Awards, with plans to launch a week later on December 16. It’s quite possible the trailer will be where players will catch a first glimpse of the returning mode Prop Hunt. “Call of Duty Leaks,” a prominentCall of Dutyleaker, took to Twitter to reveal via datamined files that Prop Hunt is coming withCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s first season. Other significant sources have also corroborated the since-deleted tweet’s claim, such as ModernWarzone.

While some elements ofBlack Ops Cold War’s Season 1 may be known, such as theBack to the Future-referencing multiplayer map, this new revelation has not been hinted at in the slightest by neither publisher Activision nor Treyarch. For those unaware, Prop Hunt is a mode where one team disguises themselves as random objects around the map, and the other tries to spot and eliminate them. The last time players saw the mode in a main entryCall of Dutytitle was 2017’sCall of Duty: WW2.
The return of Prop Hunt should come as a pleasant surprise to theCoDcommunity, should the rumors be true. Players should take the news with a grain of salt, as there hasn’t been any official acknowledgment of any sort.
