Given that Player First Games’MultiVersusis still in beta, the game may see multiple changes before its official release and could look very different as it evolves. OneMultiVersusrumor suggests that the live service model of the game will see a major new feature brought to the battle pass system.
According to aMultiVersusdataminer known as AisulMV, the battle pass system may receive a major adjustment in a future update that will link two accounts together. Like many other live service games that offerbattle passes likeFortnite,Call of Duty: Warzone, andHalo Infinite,MultiVersushas both a free and paid system that rewards fans for playing the game. TheMultiVersusbeta process that started last month has resulted in several fixes and balancing to various characters, but a potential battle pass modification could link two accounts together and make earning cosmetics a little easier as well.

AisulMV leaked two images from theMultiVersusfiles that infer players could soon find and request a battle pass partner, which includes multiple caveats to prevent abuse of the system. While battle pass progression will seemingly be linked, one account may only link to one other account each season, which will prevent lots of fans from piling onto an account to reap the rewards of more dedicated players. The battle pass with the least progression will match the others, which may encourage players that are further along in theMultiVersusbattle pass tiersto link with their lower-leveled friends.
The supposed screenshot fromMultiVersusshared by AisulMV states that one player with a premium battle pass will share progress with their battle pass partner, awarding both fans with quest rewards and XP. The new feature that may be coming to the platform fighting game touts that it allows the linked players to “conquer the battle pass faster and share the rewards,” hinting at more evidence behind the rumoredshared progression between twoMultiVersusplayers. AisulMV stated in response to a Twitter user that they anticipate that the changes coming to the battle pass content may be made with the release of season one.
Given how many battle pass systems in live service games have resulted in some players that haven’t unlocked the full stream of seasonal content, this adjustment toMultiVersus' progression may ensure that more people are able to climb up the 50 tiers. Because there’s still some confusion around how the two linked accounts will progress through the premium battle pass unlocked in theMultiVersusfounder’s pack, some fans remain hopeful that only one player will have to purchase the premium tiers, but others expect unpaid accounts to only receive the free cosmetics. Because AisulMV’s leaks are unconfirmed by the developers, these details could change between now andMultiVersus' official release or may not come to the fighting game at all.
MultiVersusis available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
