Seeing two games cross over into each other’s worlds can be quite exciting, so for anyone who wants to blend horror with fantasy role-playing, a recent mod forSkyrimlets players take on the role ofResident Evil’s Leon Kennedy. Given how old it is now, it’s not surprising thatThe Elder Scrolls 5has aged over the years. However, it’s not always about the visuals. Bethesda’s epic 2011 RPG has a ton of appeal, whether it’s the open-world aesthetic, the immersive lore, or the sense of freedom.
It’s not just the vanilla experience, either. There aremany ways to modifySkyrim, especially on PC, whether it’s giving the graphics a bit of a modern boost, streamlining the UI for a better experience, or implementing custom quests for that extra dose of longevity. There are some mods that let people see what it’s like to bring in characters from other franchises.

Take Nexus Mods user Foamimi as an example. Their latest project is a “RaceMenu Preset” that insertsResident Evil’s famous rookie cop intoSkyrim, perhaps to swap shooting up zombies in Raccoon City for fighting dragons in this cold slice of Tamriel. Images show Leon in the more fantasy setting, complete with his signature hair, with the mod’s creator saying they wanted to jump on the “fan train.” However, it should be noted that the images are part of a “custom mashup” that Foamimi used, which they say they can’t release to the public. This means that the actual character model may look slightly different to one shown on Nexus Mods.
It also requires a number of other modifications before this one can be installed. For starters, anyone interested in trying it out will need theSkyrimmod RaceMenu, which is a tool that allows for greater character customization inThe Elder Scrolls 5. Players will also need to download and install a number of other tools, such as “KS Hairdos” and “Expressive Facegen Morphs.”
Still, givenhow fast theResident Evil 4remake has been selling, it’s not surprising that people want to see more of Leon Kennedy. It certainly would be bizarre to see theResident Evilprotagonist face off against a Draugr or perform a Dragon Shout, but the inherent beauty of the modding community is gamers get to live out such fantasies.
