In a new clip shared to the r/skyrim subreddit, user TheImperator666 showed off their impressiveSkyrimarchery skills, brutally dispatching an enemy mage from long distance with an explosive arrow. The clip begins with TheImperator666 walking outside a castle with dagger in hand when they notice a mage protected by a ward on the castle walkway. Quickly devising a strategy to break through the magical defenses, they switch to a legendary bow and let loose a fiery arrow that catches the enemy square in the forehead, dispatching the mage in a burst of flame.
Fans ofSkyrimresponding to the clip, titled “H-H-H-Headshot!” in homage to the classic callout fromUnreal Tournament’s announcer, were impressed with the archer’s astounding accuracy. Poking a bit of fun at TheImperator666’s decidedly non-stealthy approach to dispatching the mage, one commenter joked “Ah yeah the twist on the stealth archer build - the standing openly in plain sight archer!” Another popular comment remarked on the audio cues in the game, noting that they found the sound of glass shattering when landing a headshot to be particularly satisfying.
This clip is a good reminder thatSkyrim’s magical shields are far less effective against archer attacks than physical shields are, a lesson the mage who ended up on the business end of the arrow learned just a bit too late. Unfortunately for the mage, unlike in the clip of aSkyrimplayer killing a rabbit while aiming for a dragon, this gamer’s aim was dead-on.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis available now on PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
