There are a lot of unusual things that go on in the world ofSkyrim, and one player took a second to absorb a scene in which the jester Cicero begins dancing without any provocation. Although Bethesda’s 2011 epic RPG is quite a sincere game, it’s litany of issues and odd encounters can often result in some amusing experiences. In fact,The Elder Scrolls 5became something of a memeover the years, with fans finding humor where it may not be intended.

Then there’s the modding community. While there are plenty of examples of people trying to improve on the game’s original format,Skyrimhas a lot of weird modsthat just make playthroughs that extra bit silly. Changing Dragonborn Shouts into flatulence or swapping out the character models of giant spiders so they resemble a creepy looking Spider-Man are just some notable ways that fans can make the game more interesting. And that’s before players happen upon one of the title’s many glitches.

In a recent post on Reddit, user TinManGrand shared a video of a strangeSkyrimencounter. The user is engaged in a heated argument with Cicero when the NPC suddenly begins to dance. TinManGrand says they have no idea what caused this as they don’t have any dance-themed mods installed, which could suggest it’s one of the game’s many amusing bugs. However, one other user suggests it might be caused by the Amazing Follower Tweaks mod, which gives characters the ability to boogie. However, it’s not clear whether TinManGrand has AFT installed, which means the jester suddenly strutting his stuff is even more confusing.

For anyone who hasn’t played the game,Cicero forms part ofSkyrim’s Dark Brotherhood questlineand is easily one of the most interesting aspects of this murderous guild. While some may find him annoying, his very emotive outbursts and notable dress style make him stand out from other NPCs in the game. Given that he is supposed to be a jester, dancing should not be too out of character, but TinManGrand was still surprised to see him busting a move while admonishing the player.

AlthoughSkyrimis one of themost immersive open-world gamesout there, things like this can often take gamers out of the experience. That’s not to say they aren’t amusing to witness, though, and a little bit of silliness in this otherwise serious RPG can offer a nice respite from fighting dragons.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis available for PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
