Pretty much since the start of the RDNA 2 and Ampere release, it’s been a bit of a nightmare for gamers and PC enthusiasts to get hold of newAMDor Nvidia hardware. WithIntel about to release its own Arc GPUrange into an uncertain market, the competition is bound to get more fierce, but that may feel all for naught for many consumers who can’t buy any of it without paying extortionate prices on sites like eBay. However, there does seem to be some light at the end of the tunnel, as it appears as though supplies are getting healthier.

According to a recent report from PC Gamer, a number of online retailers are showing positive results when searching for anAMDor Nvidia graphics card. At the time of writing, sites like Best Buy are showing there are currently 14 RTX 3080 Ti cards, 13 of the 3090, and 9 of team red’s RX 6700 XT. Similarly, for retailers in places like the UK, such as on Overclockers, there are a number of mid to high-end products that are showing as being in stock.

However, the report goes on to say that most of the GPUs are still showing as being above MSRP, but this could change over time. Withgraphics card prices continuing to decrease, being at 25% above MSRP according to 3D Center’s latest graph, hardware is getting cheaper, and the trend shows that this is likely to be ongoing. That aside, some may be a little skeptical about recent developments. After all, the industry has seen prices come down before, only to shoot up again rapidly. But with online stores now also showing a lot of new products being in stock, there does appear to be a silver lining.

At this stage, it’s tempting for potential buyers to rush out and purchase a new card while the outlook seems positive, and that’s understandable. Late last year,Intel believed the tech shortage could go on until 2023, but there’s a chance that the market is starting to see the beginning of the end for the deficit that has been raging on for well over a year now.

On top of that, there are still some additional products from this generation that are to make their presence known.Nvidia is getting ready to launch the RTX 3090 Tiany day now, andAMDis rumored to be unleashing some new RDNA 2 cards. With any luck, prices will continue to drop while supplies increase as this GPU era comes to a close.
