Summary
The Crew: Motorfestoffers players a ton of events to choose from as they explore the game world and take on the playlists. While the game primarily focuses on cars, it also offers a range of sea and sky vehicles for players to pilot. Players will first encounter boat and plane events during either the “Hawaii Scenic Tour” or “Ocean ‘n Sky” playlists.
Choosing the best plane inThe Crew: Motorfestcan be quite tricky and simply picking the fastest possible plane won’t suffice when taking on many of the aerial events. Players will need a good mix of speed and agility when navigating aerobatic races to succeed.

11Pilatus PC-21
A fantastic plane in terms of raw speed, with an advertised top speed of 685km/h, the Pilatus PC-21 is probably the fastest plane on this list. Unfortunately, that isn’t enough to save it from its pretty terrible handling, especially when testing has shown it can’t go past 351km/h when flying completely level and requires some help from gravity to achieve its top speed. It turns slowly and even using extreme mode doesn’t allow it to make sharp turns all that quickly, which is why it can’t go any higher on this list despite the impressive top speed.
10Beechcraft Model 17 Staggerwing
The Beechcraft Model 17 Staggerwing is an excellent vehicle for style alone, but it also boasts good speed for covering long distances effectively. Unfortunately, the same multi-wing design that makes it look awesome in the air also seems to render it slow to turn compared to many other options and can make sharp direction changes difficult.
9Granville Brothers Aircraft Gee Bee R-1
The Gee Bee R-1 is a fantastic vehicle in terms of speed and handlingwhile also having one of the more unusual plane designs. It has a top speed of 240km/h and turns surprisingly sharply compared to the Staggerwing, though it still struggles a bit when making sharp turns without using extreme mode. With good use of extreme mode, it can overcome this issue without losing too much speed.
8WACO Aircraft Corp. YMF-5D Super
The more agile of the two biplanes on this list, the YMF-5D Super boasts better turning speeds and overall agility than the Staggerwing. It also has an advertised top speed of 344km/h and can comfortably cruise at 238km/h when level. Players seeking an agile and stylish biplane should seriously consider this one.
7Harmon Rocket HR III
Next up is the Harmon Rocket HR III, a nippy plane that can still make turns relatively well. Players will need to use extreme mode to get the most out of the Rocket when it comes to sharp turns, but it handles incredibly well once players get used to it. Attempting to fly it without using extreme mode is a bit more of a challenge since it turns slowly when flying it “normally,” but players willing to practice with it and make good use of extreme mode will find a lot to love here.
6Extra 330 SC
The Extra 330 SC from Extra Aerobatic Planes is a fantastic plane for a wide range of events boasting incredible agility and a top speed of 380km/h (though realistically it will cap out at around 230km/h when flying completely level and requires a little help from gravity to hit max speed.) The Extra 330 SC can make sharp turns with ease and performs most tricks without difficulty, though it struggles a little with upward momentum, and its lightweight means strong winds can be hard to handle (though this only tends to be an issue in specific events during the Ocean ‘n Sky playlist.)
5Grumman 8F Bearcat
A fantastic mix of agility and speed, the Grumman 8F Bearcat is a great choice for players who want a fast plane without sacrificing weight or agility. It turns quickly and can cruise at 248km/h when level.
4Supermarine Spitfire MK IX
Fast and fairly nimble, but also quite heavy, the Supermarine Spitfire MK IX is a great choice for air events. While less maneuverable than the previous entry it more than makes up the deficit in speed while remaining capable of sharp turns with good use of extreme mode. This makes it a solid choice for players willing to sacrifice a little maneuverability for a lot of speed. It can comfortably sit at 246km/h when completely level and can achieve greater speeds when descending.
3Northrop Grumman F4U Corsair
Another heavier plane with fantastic speed and handling, the Northrop Grumman F4U Corsair handles fantastically in a range of different events. Players unsure about this plane get an opportunity to test it out during the Hawaii Scenic Tour playlist, where it performs incredibly well. It cruises at 240km/h when level while still being capable of sharp turns using extreme mode.
2Zivko Edge 540 V3
A fantastically agile vehicle, the Zivko Edge 540 V3 is a great choice for events with lots of sharp turns. It can hit a top speed of 229km/h when flying level and is a fantastic stunt plane due to its excellent handling.
