Clothing often serves as a sign of evolution inStar Warsfilms, and there are few characters that evolve so dramatically over the course of the franchise as Luke Skywalker. Just A Simple Farmboy
When audiences were first introduced to Luke Skywalker in the originalStar Warsfilm, he was just a simple farmboy who wanted to pick up some power converters and hangout with his friends. He had big dreams of a life beyond his desert home of Tatooine, and he would soon get that break after stumbling upon R2-D2 and C-3PO.The Skywalker Sagahas faithfully adapted Luke’s appearance in the beginning ofA New Hopeby reflecting the youth that powered him in the film. His hair is noticeably longer thanpreviousLEGO Star Warsgames, thanks to updated LEGO molds, and his lightweight attire is much more detailed.
While Luke’s farmboy model looks accurate and brings out a certain level of nostalgia, there are a number of other outfits fromA New Hopethat haven’t been revealed yet. His pilot outfit, stormtrooper disguise, and yellow jacket are perhaps some of the most iconic from that film, and they would benefit from updated models just as the farmboy model has. With how thoroughTraveller’s Talesis about making sure that every character’s outfit gets an in-game model, it’s likely that they will ultimately be featured. There could even be some unexpected surprises to his Tatooine look, like the appearance of his stylish space poncho.
Jedi In Training
When considering the most remarkableStar Warsfilms in the franchise’s history,The Empire Strikes Backis often regarded as the best installment of them all. The film introducedfranchise favorites like Boba Fettand Lando Calrissian, and it continued to give the core characters some memorable outfits. As Luke spent most of his time in Jedi training for this film, his outfits were mostly minimalist. So far, a model of his attire while training on Dagobah has been revealed, as well as his outfit when he had his duel with Darth Vader on Bespin. The long, boyish hair is still there, but there’s a hint of maturity in his face from his time with the Rebellion.
Following his defeat at the hands of his newly discovered father, Luke Skywalker continued his Jedi training and undertook a much darker look forReturn of the Jedi. He transitioned from more sandy-colored attire to a distinctive black outfit, and it was meant to symbolize his potential turn to the dark side. This look has been shown off at length inwhat little marketing contentThe Skywalker Sagahas, and it’s even featured on the game’s cover art. A model of Luke’s appearance on Endor has also been shown off in a trailer, with him wearing a combat helmet and a distinctive camouflage space poncho.

Not The Jedi He Used To Be
It’s no secret thatthe sequel era ofStar Warsis perhaps the most highly contested in terms of quality among fans. Some praise them for ushering in a new era ofStar Warscontent, while others think certain storytelling decisions were questionable at best. One such storytelling decision was to turn Luke Skywalker from a beacon of hope to a jaded recluse, butThe Skywalker Sagaalready looks like it will be approaching the films with a much needed layer of levity. The one Luke model from these films to get the most attention so far is based off of his appearance at the very end ofThe Force Awakens, with his white robes and full beard.
There is another Luke Skywalker model that appears to be confirmed forThe Last Jediportion ofThe Skywalker Saga, but how it will actually look is mostly up to interpretation. The model is based off of the moment where Luke Force projects himself across the galaxy in order to confront his nephew, Kylo Ren. However, in the one trailer that shows this moment, the focus is placed more on Kylo Ren while Luke can only partially be seen from behind. It’s probably safe to assume to that a model will be dedicated to this look from the film, but it’s difficult to say what it will look like other than having the same dark robes.
Luke Skywalker is one of the most recognizable faces in all ofStar Wars, so it makes sense for him to have a handful of different models inLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Traveller’s Tales has always shown a meticulous attention to detail when it comes to bringing every almost every aspect ofStar Warsto life in brick form, and the outfits of each character is no exception. The game may have been recently delayed, butwith May 4 on the horizonsome fans are optimistic for a reveal of some sorts, whether it’s a new trailer, a new release date, or both. Until then, fans will just have to trust in the Force and hope for the best.
