Because just recently, The Pokemon Company has announced that it is launching a new video series that will teach interested fans the ins and outs of thePokemon TCG.

As The Pokemon Company continues to add more Pokemon to every generation, thePokemon TCGhas kept up to date each time, providing fans withnewPokemoncards to collect, and a new meta to play around with in the competitive scene. This is probably the main reason The Pokemon Company has decided to produce its newPokemon TCGvideo series.

Starting July 06, 2025, at 2 p.m. PST, The Pokemon Company will upload weekly videos that will helpPokemon TCGplayers, both old and new, learn more about the card game. The series has been named Top Deck Academy and will be shown every Thursday on the company’s official Twitch as well as the official YouTube channel, which is home topopular animated series such asPokemon: Twilight Wings.

According to the announcement, Top Deck Academy will help educate both beginner and veteranPokemonTCGplayers by introducing them tonewPokemoncard decks, helping them build or customize their own playing decks, and even provide card battle strategy tips and tricks, for competitive fans who are interested in getting into the tournament scene.

One of the most interesting features of the Top Deck Academy series is how the videos will have prominentPokemon TCGpersonalities as guests in the show. Though no information about the official guest roster has been revealed, fans are likely hoping that the topTCGchampions, and even some popularTwitch streamers who are interested inPokemoncards, will make guest appearances in the weekly videos.

With 2021 being the 25th anniversary of thePokemonfranchise, the Top Deck Academy video series cannot have come at a better time. With recent announcements that The Pokemon Company is re-releasing classicPokemoncards, and even includingbooster packs as freebies in McDonald’s Happy Meals,Pokemon TCGfans have plenty of content to look forward to asPokemoncontinues with its exciting anniversary celebrations.
