Fans knowStar WarsDay is almost here andDisney Plushas several plans to celebrate the event on May the 4th this year. The latest addition to their list of events is a crossover betweenStar WarsandThe Simpsons. The new short, titledMaggie Simpson in The Force Awakens From Its Nap, premieres on the streaming service on the day that commemorates George Lucas’smedia franchise.
Over the years,The Simpsonsreceived several parodies,including those involvingStar Wars, but since the Disney and Fox merger, this will be the first official crossover between the two projects. Fans will get a chance to see popular characters from theStar Warsuniverse coming to Springfield while Maggie Simpson goes on an “epic quest to find her stolen pacifier.” As she wakes up in a daycare, she realizes her pacifier has gone missing and is willing to go on an ultimate battle against the dark side to get it back, while saving the galaxy.

This is only the first in a whole series ofThe Simpsonscrossover content planned for the year. While this one brings in references from theStar Warsfranchise, other promotional shorts over the year will seeThe Simpsons’characters unite with multiple top brands of The Walt Disney Company and some ofDisney Plus' popular shows.
The short film is not the only content fans of the extremely popular series will be able to enjoy onMay the 4th. The much-awaited animated Disney Plus seriesStar Wars: The Bad Batchalso premieres on the celebratory day, which will follow the journey of experimental clones finding their way in a galaxy far, far away following the events of the animated seriesStar Wars: The Clone Wars. Each member of this Bad Batch will be unique, as they vary genetically from their counterparts and possess skills that make them powerful soldiers. A virtual art showcase will also be going live.
Fans will also be able to catch a virtual tour of some of theLucasfilmfranchise’s famous planets inStar Wars Biomes. Additionally,Star Wars Vehicle Flythroughswill let fans step insidethe iconic Millennium Falconand an Imperial Star Destroyer.
Apart from these, Disney has previously confirmed that11 newStar Warsshowswill be coming to Disney Plus soon. For now, fans can enjoy watching the youngest Simpsons family member go up against the likes of Sith Lords and droids.
