The simplistic daily word game has inspired plenty of passionate fans to create their ownWordleclone to ride the game’s surge of popularity.Pokemon, in particular, has seen its own spinoff ofWordlewith the aptly-namedSquirdlefeaturing any ofPokemon’s 898 creatures from the franchise’s history. Now, the newest Pokemon-themed spinoff sporting a similar name has added a new piece of flavor in keeping with the franchise that inspired it.

Similar to its fellowPokemonguessing game, the newly-releasedSqwordlecreated by Nathan Fretz, going by the Reddit username of thecrumpking, tasks players with guessing fromPokemon’s original Kanto roster of 151 creaturesby associating the selections with different moves. Each guess will narrow down the pool of selections as thePokemonwill use a new move from its available learnset with the game graying out Pokemon that no longer fit the criteria. The game also features multiple difficulties allowing players to tune their experience for a greater challenge.
The functionality of thePokemon-themedWordleclone plays similarly to the previously-releasedSquirdlewith tasking players to guess Pokemon based on statistics like height and weight while the addition of lower difficulties with move-based hints makes the challenge easier for players with less intimate knowledge of detailed Pokemon stats.
