Topaz & Numby is a pair inHonkai: Star Railthat follows the Path of the Hunt and has a Fire Element. Numby is Topaz’s trotter companion and in battle, the adorable creature is the one who’d deal most of the damage.
Similar toJing Yuan’s Lightning Lord, Numby has its own SPD and will attack automatically, but the trotter will also attack when Topaz uses her Skill. As for Topaz’s Ultimate, it’s merely to enhance Numby to deal larger numbers, but has no damage on its own. Due to the pair’s rather unique gameplay, it’s really easy to get lost when it comes to determining thebest Topaz & Numby build inHonkai: Star Rail.

Originally, she was deemed lacking, but her rank continues to rise with the release of suitable teammates. This is mostly because Topaz’s kit leans towards support more than DPS, making her look underwhelming as a main damage dealer, but excellent as a sub-DPS. Topaz first went up on the tier list when Dr. Ratio was released, and once more with Feixiao’s debut. As of now, Topaz is currently one of the best follow-up attack DPS, which can place debuff and enhance other follow-up attackers.
Topaz & Numby Best Relics In Honkai: Star Rail
Since Topaz’s damage mostly comes from Numby’s follow-up attack, the4pc Firesmith of Lava-Forgingis not the absolute best for her. Instead, players should go for4pc The Ashblazing Grand Duke. In a debuff team with Dr. Ratio,4pc Pioneer Diver of Dead Watersis also a great option. If those sets aren’t available, players can settle with Relics that give universal, non-situational bonuses like2pc Musketeer of Wild Wheat (ATK +12%)and4pc Champion of Streetwise Boxinguntil better options come.

Considering Numby deals far larger damage for the next two hits after Topaz uses her Ultimate,Energy Regenerationrope instead of ATK is viable.

A lot of Light Cones forHunt characters inHonkai: Star Railgive bonuses to Skill or Basic ATK DMG, and they sadly aren’t ideal for Topaz. Apart from her signature weaponWorrisome, Blissful, people can use the Simulated-UniverseCruising in the Stellar Sea, F2PFinal VictororRiver Flows in Spring, Battle PassReturn to Darkness, or gacha Lightcones likeSwordplayandOnly Silence Remains.
Although generally worse compared to the aforementioned options, some 5-star Light Cones work as a stat-stick. This means the passive isn’t fully ideal, but the high Base ATK and Critical boost still make them an acceptable choice. This includes weapons likeIn the Night,Sleep Like the Dead,Baptism of Pure Thought, andI Venture Forth to Hunt. Meanwhile, new players can go for the 3-star Light ConeDarting Arrow.

Skill has the top priority since it applies theProof of Debtdebuff, which causes the enemy to take more DMG from follow-up hits. This benefits not only Topaz but also other units that play with follow-up attacks, so it’s the most important.
