Although many gamers will be racing toHorizon Forbidden Westto check out the fantastic new environments, hunt machines, and find out more about Aloy’s world, there are plenty of gamers who are also very interested in the game for the trophies it offers. Luckily, like its predecessor, most of the trophies that can be earned inHorizon Forbidden Westare not difficult, but one trophy titled “All Machine Types Scanned” can be missed if players are not careful.

Horizon Forbidden West’s Trophy List Is a Typical Affair
Most ofHorizon Forbidden West’s trophiesshould not come as a surprise to players, and many of them will be unlocked during regular gameplay. For example, there are bronze trophies for reaching level 20 and 30, and there is a shiny silver trophy awarded to players when they reach level 50. There are bronze trophies up for grabs for killing at least one type of all acquisition machines, recon machines, combat machines, and transport machines. Players can also earn trophies from the hunting grounds, and there are a good number of trophies that are tied to main story quests.
For trophy hunters,Horizon Forbidden Westis certainly a game worth considering as it is not too difficult to acquire the platinum trophy, although it may take a bit of time as one would expect with an open-world game. Best of all, the game has no difficulty trophies, so all trophies can be gained regardless of what difficulty one plays on.
As extra incentive to unlock those trophies, Sony has launched the Play and Plant initiative which promises to have a tree planted every time the “Reached the Daunt” trophy is unlocked until Jul 23, 2025. Remember to Use Aloy’s Focus to Get All Trophies
Though almost all trophies will be unlocked as players naturally progress, there is the opportunity to acquire some of them during post-game. However, the trophy “All Machine Types Scanned” is the exception to this. As the trophy’s name suggests, to unlock it, players must scan all machines in the game, which they can do byactivating Aloy’s focus. However, there are two machines called Specter and Specter Prime that appear during the late stages of the game, and they do not spawn in the open-world. If players do not scan these machines when they appear during the mission “Singularity,” there will not be any other opportunity to scan them.
In general, it is useful to use Aloy’s focus to scan machines when they are around. It reveals their patrol paths, allowsAloy to mark machines, and it highlights their weak points. For smart players who hope to knock off components and use elements that machines are weak to, scanning machines is a key part of any good strategy.
