Disguised Toast and xQc were among the competitors in the June 1 Twitch Rivals 2v2Elden Ringchallenge, with xQc teaming up with Team Liquid’s Mendo to defeat otherElden Ringveterans. Things took a wrong turn when xQc mistakenly used an item to boost his defense before a fight, which causes some debate that leads to his opponent getting a free hit against xQc. This one hit turns out to be more powerful than xQc expects as his opponent, aVtuberthat streams under the name girl_dm_, quickly dispatches him with the free hit advantage.

The Twitch Rivals administrators in the 2v2Elden Ringevent never specified what would happen after the free attack for girl_dm_, causingTwitch streamer xQcto expect that he would have time to react to the swing. After girl_dm_ hit xQc with a heavy and light attack, his Tarnished is defeated, and he asks for clarification on why girl_dm_ took two swings. According to girl_dm_, they were expecting xQc to fight back or defend himself after the initial heavy attack, a misunderstanding that led xQc to question whether or not the match could be reset so that they could once again be on equal footing, but he was denied.
TheTwitch Rivalstournament admin told xQc that the health discrepancy between the two competitors was too big and that girl_dm_ was likely to win a rematch should the fight be reset. While saying multiple times that he doesn’t care about what happened in the Twitch Rivals 2v2Elden Ringchallenge among several expletives, xQc states that he’s done and that they can “take it,” referring to the remainder of the competition.
Popular Twitch streamer xQc has playedOverwatchcompetitively in the past but has stated that he doesn’t want to get into esports again. Given his reaction to the Twitch RivalsElden Ring2v2 challenge, he may not return to events with a heavy emphasis onElden RingPvP. Although several Twitch Rivals viewers celebrated girl_dm_’s victory, many others highlighted issues that have occurred at previousTwitchevents and suggested that the fault is on the administration instead of either streamer.
