A newWorld of Warcraftweapon was datamined from the latest build on the public test realm, and its appearance could carry some significant implications for the future of theDragonflightexpansion. The news of the weapon arrived as Blizzard shifts its focus to what is coming soon toWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflightin the coming days and weeks.Next Tuesday, March 21,World of WarcraftPatch 10.0.7 will go live, which will take players back to The Forbidden Reach as they uncover what lies ahead in the wake of Raszageth’s demise. With the death of the Storm-Eater in the Vault of the Incarnates raid, her fellow Primal Incarnates, Iridikron, Fyrakk, and Vyranoth were set free and retreated underground to plan their next moves. Those plans will begin to show in both Patch 10.0.7 and Patch 10.1. Players that have been testing Patch 10.1 on the public test realm (PTR) have recently uncovered a weapon that may provide some clues as to where Dragonflight will go following the next two patches.RELATED:World of Warcraft: Aberrus Raid Boss List in Embers of Neltharion RevealedThe datamined weapon in question does not have an official name at the time of writing. However, as dataminers andWorld of Warcraftplayers pointed out, the scythe-shaped staff that bears a striking resemblance to Nozdormu, the timeless aspect of the Bronze Dragonflight. The scythe’s coloration and hourglass pattern match that of the bronze aspect’s visage form. While the Nozdormu-inspired staff is not tied to any known source or boss on the PTR at this time,Patch 10.1 has a wealth of contentthat remains focused on the secrets that Neltharion, also known as Deathwing, left behind.

However, this is not the first time that Nozdormu has come up as a potential boss fight inWorld of Warcraft. InCataclysm, players facedan Infinite Dragonflight version of Nozdormu called Murozondand emerged victorious, putting an end to the Infinite Dragonflight in at least one timeline. The Infinite Dragonflight has made appearances in both Thaldrazzus and in the “Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr” dungeon so far inDragonflight. Even as Nozdormu’s fate continues to haunt him, the current plot will soon shift its focus toward the origins of the Dracthyr, the dark secrets of Neltharion, and the threat of the remaining Primal Incarnates.

However, both the fate of Deathwing and the emergence of Murozond have one thread in common. WhileWorld of Warcraftplayers recently dealt with N’Zoth at the end ofBattle for Azeroth,it was the Old Godsthat were responsible for turning Deathwing against the other Dragon Aspects in the past. They will also be responsible for sealing Nozdormu’s fate as Murozond in the future. Whether the datamined staff will be a prize for taking down Murozond again or not is anybody’s guess. Only time will tell what will come to pass.
