Now, Warner Bros. has released four posters forWonder Woman 1984that spotlight Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah, and Pedro Pascal’s Maxwell Lord.

Wonder Woman 1985 Diana Prince

Set during the Cold War,Wonder Woman 1984will see Diana Prince reuniting with Steve Trevor, who has inexplicably returned despite sacrificing himself to thwart Ares' plan during the First World War. Their efforts to make up for lost time are hindered when Diana comes into conflict with wealthy media tycoon Maxwell Lord. Complicating matters further isthe transformation of Barbara Minerva, a friend of Diana’s, who soon becomes an adversary after being endowed with Cheetah-like abilities. The newWonder Woman 1984posters released by IGN turn the spotlight on each character individually while capturing the colorful and psychedelic aesthetic of the ’80s.

Wonder Womandirector Patty Jenkins returns to the helm the sequel, and intends to return for the third chapter of the film series. However, Jenkins saidWonder Woman 3willlikely be her final time at the helmof the franchise. Fortunately, the benefit of knowing when her tenure with theWonder Womanfilms will come to an end has inspired her to leave no stone unturned with the third installment. “The next one is probably my last Wonder Woman movie, so I have to put everything I want to show there. We have to think carefully,” she said in an interview.

American moviegoers hoping to take advantage of HBO Max’s 7-day free trial ahead ofWonder Woman 1984’s debut on the streamer are out of luck. WarnerMedia issuspending the offer in favor of a 22 percent discountto new and returning users who purchase a six-month subscription.

Those living in countries where theaters remain closed or HBO Max is not yet available will face a dilemma of their own. While Warner Bros. has setinternational theatrical release datesforWonder Woman 1984, with some countries receiving the sequel before the U.S. in an effort to prevent piracy, there does not appear to be any plans to make the film available on VOD globally at this time.
