With just weeks until launch, 2K Games revealed the overall rating for The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, inWWE 2K23.The rating was posted byWWE 2Kon social media for WWE fans and viewers to take a look at. For the most part, WWE fans agreed that Reigns' rating was appropriate for the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.Since Visual Concepts took over development for Yuke’s, theWWE 2Kseries has seen some ups and downs, including the critically-pannedWWE 2K20. WithWWE 2K23seen as a way for 2K Games and Visual Concepts to improve on the series going forward, the promotional period for the upcoming game is in full swing. As part of this, the developers started revealing the ratings for select wrestlers on the roster, with WWE legends such asHulk Hogan getting an impressive 94 overall ratinginWWE 2K23. Given the fact that Reigns has been the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for over 10 consecutive months, the rating was seen by other Twitter users as unsurprising. However, his in-ring persona has remained a divisive topic among wrestling fans for many years.
While Reigns has the highest overall rating that has been revealed so far, he is only three points ahead of the second-highest-rated wrestler. With an overall rating of 96,Becky Lynch is the highest-rated female wrestlerin the game. During Lynch’s rating reveal, Lynch was told that only two male wrestlers, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, had a higher overall rating than her. At the time of writing, Lesnar’s rating inWWE 2K23has not been revealed, so it remains to be seen how it will compare to Reigns' rating.
Reigns had a 95 overall rating inWWE 2K22, which is a four-point jump from year to year. However, witha staggering 178 wrestlers to choose from inWWE 2K23, Visual Concepts has the unenviable task of rating each one of them. With only weeks to go until the game’s March 17 release day, only time will tell how many more ratings will be revealed prior to launch, and how many will be left forWWE 2Kplayers to discover.
As far as the action in the ring, WWE’s nextmajor event will be WrestleMania 39, which is scheduled for April 1 and 2. The show will be held at SoFi Stadium, the home of the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. BetweenWWE 2K23and WrestleMania, WWE fans will have plenty to look forward to in the coming weeks.
