Disney and Marvel Studios have yet to disclose what kinds of plans are in store for theX-Menfranchise, but once that’s settled there are surely tons of comic book storylines from which to borrow. One such storyline involves the Savage Land, where this gorgeous Rogue cosplay hails from.
Hidden inside Antarctica, the tropical Savage Land was one of thoseX-Menconcepts that were incredibly far ahead of its time back when it debuted in theUncanny X-Menseries in 1965, and since then it’s gone on to become an exotic destination for many of Marvel’s finest, such asSpider-Man and Kraven the Hunter. Naturally, since Rogue is already so popular among cosplayers, her Savage Land version is even more desired due to her rugged and revealing costume being so unique.

Italian cosplayer Sweet Angel (@miciaglo) took this challenge and went the distance to create her Savage Land Rogue from scratch, taking into account all the variations and different details seen in her outfit across her different appearances in the comics. The result is an incredibly accurate and realistic look that goes far beyond just ripping a few old t-shirts as she claims it took her a few all-nighters to get details such as the wig, handbag, and weapon to look this good.
Of course, the fact that this Sweet Angel’s dazzling look is complemented by the beautiful beaches of Rimini, Italy only helps to enhance the wild nature appearance a Savage Land Rogue is supposed to convey. Considering Sweet Angel claims she picked up her wooden lance while mountain hiking, maybe she has the survival skills needed to make it in the Savage Land.
The Savage Land never made into one ofFox’sX-Menfilms, though it has been featured and mentioned in several of Marvel’s animated shows, most prominently inX-Men: The Animated Serieswhere it added a couple of twists like Mister Sinister installing devices that would cancel the X-Men’s powers. The two-part “Savage Land, Savage Heart” episode was for many the way they became familiar with characters such as Ka-Zar, Shanna the She-Devil, and Sauron, although the X-Men don’t put on their savage costumes.
All things considered, Marvel Studios already has its work cut out for it trying to fit theX-MenandDeadpoolinto an established MCUtimeline where there are no mutants. However,Black WidowandThe Falcon and the Winter Soldiercould have introduced the first mutant and with the diverging Multiverse now being a thing, it’s certainly beginning to lay the ground for thatX-Menreboot to be ready for a potential Phase Five afterThe Fantastic Four.
