Zeldafans are paying tribute to severalBreath of the Wildweapons that did not make it toThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The Fuse ability allows players to combine and create powerful weapons of their own inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and some creations may resemble prized weapons that were previously available inBreath of the Wild.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomtakes place directly after the events ofBreath of the Wild, and the Upheaval disaster at the start of the game caused many great changes in the vast Kingdom of Hyrule. Hyrule Castle was lifted off of the ground, and several islands appeared floating high in the sky. After waking up inthe Great Sky Islandwith a decayed Master Sword, Link is determined to search for Zelda in the land below, but Rauru suggests that the Hylian hero should strengthen his newly transplanted arm. Link gains the Ultrahand, Ascend, Fuse, and Recall abilities from four introductory shrines, which teach the essentials of exploring and procuring weapons in Hyrule.

Tears of the Kingdomplayer weallfal1down recently made a graphic depicting several weapons fromBreath of the Wildthat didn’t make a return in the latestZeldatitle. The user’s Reddit post encouraged manyZelda:Breath of the Wildfans to reminisce and pay tribute to weapons such as the Savage Lynel Crusher and Drillshaft. Although players mayfuse weapons inZelda: Tears of the Kingdom, some fans are disappointed with the lack of unique weapons that were once held by Yiga Clan enemies inBreath of the Wild, including the Demon Carver and Vicious Sickle.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild’sLizal Tri-Boomerang appears to be another fan-favorite weapon since it’s a reliable and common drop from Lizalfos enemies across Hyrule.Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’sboomerang weaponsmay be fused with other materials to replicate Lizal Tri-Boomerang’s attack stat or add special effects. However, the Lizal Tri-Boomerang’s signature design is missing fromTears of the Kingdom.

The lack of returning weapons fromBreath of the Wildcaused some disappointment in theZeldacommunity, and the visual appearance of fused weapons appears to be a point of contention for longtime fans. Fused weapons may retain design traits of unique weapons fromZelda: Breath of the Wild, but attack damage and durability may be completely different depending on the fusion. In this case, some players would rather have a sturdy weapon with an appealing design like the Moonlight Scimitar instead of a fused Lizalfos sword.

PotentialZelda: Tears of the KingdomDLCmight address the criticism some fans may have with the game’s current selection of weapons. Despite the lack of an official announcement from Nintendo, datamines suggest that DLC could be in development, and the game’s final shrine appears to hint at another possible adventure for Link in Hyrule.
